Mobile Community Recycling Service

The Mobile Community Recycling Service is available to residents of Cumberland City Council, Blacktown City Council and City of Parramatta Council. The service aims to provide an easy and convenient way for residents to recycle or safely dispose of household problem wastes including gas bottles, fire extinguishers, paint, batteries, oils, fluoro lights, smoke detectors and electronic waste (E-waste).

To be eligible to participate in this program you must:

  • Be a current resident of Cumberland City Council, Blacktown City Council and City of Parramatta Council.
  • Ensure only materials listed are placed out for collection. No other waste will be collected.
  • Place materials out the night before your collection date.
  • Materials must be placed on your property within your front boundary, in an accessible area
    (e.g. not behind locked gates, no unrestrained pets).
  • Only domestic quantities will be accepted 20Kg or 20L maximum container size
    (12 containers per booking).
  • Problem waste: Our team can lift a maximum of 20kg or 20L per item of problem waste. We can collect a maximum of 12 items or 100L per booking.
  • E-waste: All items must be smaller than 60 inches or 153cm, weighing a maximum of 45kg per item. We can collect a maximum of 5 items or 100kg per booking.
  • All items are to be secured, leaking or damaged containers will NOT be collected.
  • Textile: Maximum of 30kgs (limited to 15kg per bag). Please use plastic bags to protect textiles from rain, dew, dust etc.

  • Household batteries
  • BBQ gas bottles
  • Fire extinguishers
  • Smoke detectors
  • Fluoro globes and tubes

E-Waste items we collect include;

  • TV’s (up to 60 inches or 153cm)
  • Computers and accessories
  • Monitors
  • Laptops
  • Gaming consoles
  • DVD & VCR players
  • Printers
  • Stereo systems
  • Mobile phones & accessories
  • Small electronic goods with a cord including microwaves, toasters, hairdryers etc.

Textile items we collect include;

  • All clothing in good condition (not ripped, soiled or wet)
  • Children’s / babies sleeping bags
  • Adult Sleeping bags / Blankets
  • Shoes, belts and handbags in good condition.

By participating in this program you indemnify and release each participating Council and the NSW EPA from, and each Council and the NSW EPA will not be liable for, any claims, liability, action, proceedings, loss or damages resulting from your participation in the Mobile Community Recycling Service to the extent permitted by law.

The Mobile Community Recycling Service is part of the Community Recycling Centre program and is an initiative of the Cumberland City Council, Blacktown City Council and City of Parramatta Council.

The Mobile Community Recycling Service is delivered by Resource Recovery Australia (RRA). RRA is a not-for-profit social enterprise that works in waste management to keep waste out of landfill and create employment and training opportunities for people experiencing barriers to work.

Problem waste: Our team can lift a maximum of 20kg or 20L per item of problem waste. We can collect a maximum of 12 items or 100L per booking. .

E-waste: All items must be smaller than 60 inches or 153cm, weighing a maximum of 45kg per item. We can collect a maximum of 5 items or 100kg per booking.

Dangerous goods and items other than those listed will not be accepted.

Textiles

(Cumberland City Council residents only)

Acceptable quantity: Maximum of 30kgs (limited to 15kg per bag). Please use plastic bags to protect textiles from rain, dew, dust etc.
